Black and Decker makes a great space maker one –I have it and it’s super!

I know you are asking about electric can openers. I have never had good luck with the electric kind. They don’t seem to do well with odd sized / shaped cans,or heavy ones, either. My best bet is my Zyliss brand hand crank model that cuts from the side and leaves a smooth edge on the can. It has a nice ergonomic handle and works equally well with any size or shape of can.

Unless you open a lot of cans,I recommend going with the old-fashioned twist it yourself kind. Takes a lot less space and,now that so many cans have pop-open tops, not a hassle to use.

Ask any chef and they will tell you to use a hand operated can opener. The mounted ones are nearly impossible to clean (i.e. they harbor bacteria). You can buy a hand operated one for less,it will work better and you can put it in the dishwasher for easy cleaning.

You can buy one for very little at Wal-Mart that will last you for years.

    Don’t waste your time
Get the One Touch as seen on TV they are cool and don’t take any counter space.

I’ve had BAD luck with CuisinArt and Hamilton.

I just went back to my trusty hand crank model.

But if Oster makes one,I will get theirs.

    EDIT:

Oster makes can openers! I just bought one. Here’s the web page:http://www.oster.com/ProductCategory.aspx?mpcid=1543&cname=Cooking&cid=48#CategoryAnchor48

Scroll to the middle to choose one of three!
