This is my ALKCO 13watt per-heat under cabinet light. I got this light at a re-store. The ballast is in vary good condishion. It did not come with a cord so I put one on.

My kitchen cabinets have fluorescent lights under them, and they are 18″ above the counter tops. Right now I have one small basil plant and it is doing extremely well. What else can I grow here that would do well? What would be the best herbs to grow in this short space? Are there any non-herbs ideal for this space? Much thanks.

I can’t see how to remove the metal casing so I can access the wiring. I have the plastic cover off and the tube but I don’t see how the metal cover comes off.

It comes with a white fluorescent bulb and I absolutely hate the way it looks. All lights in my house have a soothing, yellow-ish glow, but these. I want to change the bulbs to something more soothing, such as a yellow hue like that of the light that goes above a stove, but I’m not having any luck finding them. Anyone know where I can pick some up?
