Someone told me to use LEDs because halogen bulbs don’t last and they create to much heat.

Can I cut the plug and hard wire it to an existing box I stubbed out or should I install a receptacle and plug it in.

I would rather hard wire it because the stubbed box will be covered up in a cabinet – I don’t want an exposed receptacle “hidden” in my cabinet.

I also need to light a curio cabinet. I’m leary of anything that burns real hot.
Any input is appreciated.

I would like to replace my kitchen under cabinet 20 Watt halogen puck lights with something that is more energy efficient, uses less electricity, runs cooler and produces brighter, more even lighting. Any ideas?
