Good day all. Let me start by saying that I am not doing homework. I have a real need for this. I need to build a heat-activated fan for a stereo cabinet. I will not take the easy way out and plug the fan into the switch on the back of the A/V processor since this will add noise.
I bought an enclosed stereo cabinet and made a few modifications to allow air-flow through the cabinet. I put a filter on the bottom and installed a low-noise computer fan on the top (that blows out). Right now, I am using an old cell phone charger to power the computer fan. I think the charger output is roughly 12 volts DC. I would like to put some sort or switch between the charger and the fan so it only comes on when the heat builds up inside the stereo cabinet (off under 85, on over 85 degrees or more). Will you help with this? I don’t know anything about electronics but know how to solder, how to follow directions well, and I am pretty handy.
Thanks for all who reply in kind.
Sincerely,
Carl
I am putting in an Island in the kitchen and need to wire in some outlets AND a light.
I have an unused romex 15a source wire and need to wire in a GFCI outlet with subsequent normal outlets (4 more) and also have a switch for the under cabinet counter lighting. Just looking for the simplest and safest way to wire it all in. Thanks for any answers.

Have under-cabinet “puck” lights with a “thru-cord” switch. Don’t have the instructions for the wiring of the switch. I believe the wire, which has a ribbed and smooth side, has to be split for the switch. Help! Thanks
