I am replacing my dishwasher. The dishwasher power supply, between the box under the counter and the dishwasher, is within a flexible armored sheath. When I disconnected the power from the old dishwasher, I noticed that there was no ground wire. Before I go to the hardware store, I thought I’d ask if anyone knew if I can just buy the correct dishwasher power supply with three wires, connect in the existing box under the cabinet and move on or if this is a more serious complication. When done, I want the installation to be safe, with the three expected wires though the sheath all the way to the dishwasher.
For what it is worth, I have the knowledge and tools to safely replace dimmer switches, etc., but I don’t do anything “behind the walls”. If this can be done at the box under the sink, I am in business.
I am putting in an Island in the kitchen and need to wire in some outlets AND a light.
I have an unused romex 15a source wire and need to wire in a GFCI outlet with subsequent normal outlets (4 more) and also have a switch for the under cabinet counter lighting. Just looking for the simplest and safest way to wire it all in. Thanks for any answers.
I have a neon light under my cabinet and I purchased another light to replace it. The light I purchased has a plug so it is intended for an outlet. I would like to cut off the plug and wire it to the wire coming out of the wall for my neon under cabinet light. Is there any danger in doing so?
I am doing a home renovation. I am desperately seeking under-cabinet puck lights.
I need a set of 3 that operate on normal voltage that will hard wire into a wall light switch.
I need 1 low voltage recessed puck and transformer that will hard wire into a wall light switch.
Why do Home Depot, Lowe’s, Amazon, etc. only sell the kind that plug into the wall?
I found the low voltage kind here: http://www.brodwax.com/pucklight.htm
Still seeking the 120V type.
I’d rather buy on the internet than search for a specialty store. I am doing a entire house, and it too time consuming to have to find and drive to specialty stores.
Can I cut the plug and hard wire it to an existing box I stubbed out or should I install a receptacle and plug it in.
I would rather hard wire it because the stubbed box will be covered up in a cabinet – I don’t want an exposed receptacle “hidden” in my cabinet.
I remodeled my kitchen and ran wires for under counter lights? I had a gift card for Home Depot so I had to buy the lights there but all I could find was plug in/linkable lights. Some will link but 4 (1 in each cluster of cabinets) needs to be hardwired. Can I cut off the plug and hard wire them in? They are line voltage. None are low voltage.
Have under-cabinet “puck” lights with a “thru-cord” switch. Don’t have the instructions for the wiring of the switch. I believe the wire, which has a ribbed and smooth side, has to be split for the switch. Help! Thanks
I am putting in a new kitchen and I am looking to hardwire three under cabinet puck lights that will all be on the same switch as a 4″ pot light that will shine down over the window. I know the puck lights require a different voltage so how do I hard wire these lights before I put my drywall in?
I am running HDMI cable from A/V cabinet to TV and speaker wire to 7 speakers from A/V cabinet. I want the most professional look I can get DIY without going into walls or under carpet. I found one set of Phillips wire tubing but it was only 1/2 inch and not big enough for HDMI cables to run through?
What cost effective wire management systems are available to pull this off without too much hard work. Please give me brand or product names and/or links/websites/stores so I can get my hands on recommended system. Thanks alot
